What deserves attention

The Navy's March announcement for Hadrian's Alabama factory describes an estimated 18–24-month path from project initiation to full-rate production, including component qualification and SUBSAFE compliance. Opening a facility is one milestone in that process. Navy account

Hadrian's company-wide Head of Qualification posting makes the work tangible: resolve incomplete technical data, assemble qualification packages, complete first-article verification, and secure source approval.

The recruiting read

Our read: experience getting parts accepted could be unusually valuable here. Candidates who have navigated customer qualification, manufacturing data, and approval processes have a specific contribution to make as capacity expands.

The role also asks its leader to define and scale the qualification function. Treat it as an opportunity to build that system, rather than assuming all the operating structure is established. The posting does not identify it as an Alabama-only role.

Before you commit

Ask which part families are already source-approved, what blocks the others, and which approvals your first-year targets depend on. Those answers tell you whether you are improving production or establishing its prerequisites.
